an amazingly COOL observation about MKW's brief scene in The Incredible Hulk:

In the thread, some posters are theorizing that MKW will be Luke Cage of the new avengers. Whatever that is. I don't even know, but I'll happily help spread the rumour if it ends up with a meaty role for Michael. I remember the old Avengers. And then the replacement for Mrs. Peel.

File this under: "Whoooo-hooooooooooooooo Oh, shit..."

"Simon is developing multiple projects for HBO, including a movie about the addict who robbed drug dealers who was the inspiration for Omar Little in The Wire and a drama about the musical and sociopolitical dynamics of New Orleans. He received notes on the latter’s pilot script, he said, and turned in a revised version recently. If he gets the green light, Simon hopes to start shooting in New Orleans this fall."

So I guess it's up to someone else to write a movie about Omar, and not his inspiration. God speed with that, though, the real Donnie the rip and run robber of drug dealers actually did jump off a 4story building and survived. Maybe MKW will play him! Har!

OK, Generation Kill. I wish Michael Kevin Darnall had an opportunity to audition for it, because he did such a great and convincing job playing a soldier in The Sand Storm, yah know?

I'd like it a lot more than I do so far. But I get that it's in the exposition stage, and it's hard to avoid all them war cliches. Yah know?

Holy MacGillicuddy, Lucy, can this be true?

> Michael Kenneth Williams, who began his career in show biz as a dancer in a Janet Jackson video and was seen more recently as the late great Omar from HBO's The Wire, will hit Broadway in Wig Out!, a play by Tarell Alvin McCraney about a drag competition. It also stars downtown diva Daniel T. Boothe -- aka Sweetie. You can catch MKW in a bunch of upcoming films -- I'm most excited about Spike Lee's Miracle at St. Anna, out in late September.

If it is, then we MUST FORM A POSSE and go see it. We can share a room or something. Maybe somebody in or near NYC has a room we can share. Maybe MKD2 will lend us some sleeping bags and situate us strategically on his floor, if he has a floor!
In any case, let's GOOOOOO!!!!!

MKW in a sequel to Happiness? Todd Solendz - I only saw Welcome to the Dollhouse because I'm a fruitcake who likes happy endings etc. I'm sure I'm missing some awesome cinema.

He's in the supporting cast of a new TOM FONTANA series. Here's a clip, but no MKW.

this is THRILLING news! MKW with a significant role in a new HBO series directed by Martin Scorcese! And get this: Steve Buscemi is in it. Also, Michael Pitt ...I loves me some Michael Pitt, don't ask me why. Maybe it's because he played Kurt Cobain. But I love, love, loved him and Buscemi in Delirious, wherein Buscemi is a paparazzi and Pitt becomes his extremely amiable assistant. Buscemi is unrelentingly bitter, distrustful, and sneaky, while Pitt is guileless, gullible and nice. Really, really nice. And accommodating (as in, willing to sleep in the closet as if that was some kind of incredible act of kindness on Buscemi's part). Watch it, you'll like it.

PS: It doesn't sound like MKW's playing a thug. He's the "unofficial mayor" of a black neighborhood in Atlantic City. Atlantic City! Oooh. Oooh, ohhh, ooooh. I hope it's good and that it's renewed and that MKW is more than a thug.

Here's a better description of "Boardwalk".

*Actor Michael Kenneth Williams, best known as gay stick-up artist Omar Little from HBO's "The Wire," returns to the cable channel as the newest cast member of director Martin Scorsese's drama pilot "Boardwalk Empire."

Written by Terence Winter, "Empire" chronicles the early 20th century origins of Atlantic City and revolves around Nucky Johnson (Steve Buscemi), who runs a liquor-distribution ring, and Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt), his ruthless flunky, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Williams will play Chalky White, the de facto mayor of Chickenbone Beach, Atlantic City's black section. He's an intelligent ex-boxer and confidant of Nucky's who rules his community with an iron fist.

The Philanthropist tonight on NBC. His character is named Dax. I'll probably tape it and watch it later, which is bad because that means most likely I will have my finger on the forward button of the remote for the whole show.

I hope he's playing the Nancy Allen role. Unless he's Robocop. Man, if we knew then what we know now.
